DJ lessons for ages 8 to 15 · Lewisville and DFW
Private and small-group DJ lessons from a working DJ with ten years of mixing, who also plays kids' birthday parties. I bring the controllers and headphones, or I'll teach your child on the gear you already own. They learn to count beats, blend two songs, and play a short set for the family.
The 6-lesson plan
Every lesson ends with something your child can play back for you. Kids who want more keep going after lesson 6 with their own song picks.
Counting 4/4, finding the first beat of a bar, and spotting phrases in songs they already know.
Jog wheels, play and cue, EQ knobs, channel faders, and the crossfader. Headphones on, volume down, hands on.
Using the sync-off controls to line up two songs by ear, then by eye on the waveform.
Bringing a second song in with EQ and faders so the change sounds smooth instead of sudden.
Picking songs that fit together, ordering them for energy, and choosing clean, age-appropriate versions.
A 10-minute set played live for family, with a recording they can keep.
Pricing
No contracts. Pay per lesson or by the month. Siblings who share a lesson time get 10% off the second child.

Your teacher
I'm Tosin. I have mixed for ten years, and I DJ kids' birthday parties, so I already know how to keep a room of kids dancing and having fun. I also publish my sets online, so you can hear exactly what your child will be learning to do.
By day I'm a senior product manager at a tech company, where I spend my time explaining complicated things to people who have never seen them. That is how I teach DJing too: small steps, plain words, and a lot of hands-on practice.
For parents
No. I bring a DJ controller, headphones, and speakers to every lesson. If your child already has gear, I'm happy to teach on that instead, whether it is a starter controller or a full setup. If you're thinking of buying some, ask me first and I'll tell you what is worth it.
Yes. Lesson 1 starts with listening and counting, not buttons. Most kids blend two songs by lesson 4.
Clean, age-appropriate versions only. Kids pick songs they like from a list we agree on with you, and I'll check each one before it is played.
At your home or at a public place such as a library or rec center. For in-home lessons, a parent or guardian stays in the house.
Tell me 24 hours ahead and we'll move it, no charge. Later than that, the lesson is billed.
Book
I reply within a day, usually the same evening, with open times for a trial lesson.
